I am glad I bought the home dock, it makes listening in the house great.
I had to call up Sirius to tell them to me how to face it. a small and pretty easy to use product that is really nice to listen to. Finally everything was returned and started over with something else. Well so I fished it through window and plugged it in back of dock. How ever when it comes to the antenna part, things get frustrating and difficult fast. Because I was never really able to set this up. The whole unit was broken and I wasted time and money on the whole thing. A little work and then you'll have something that may work.
That's where the instructions help, but should show a picture. This product when taken out of package (which is really hard to get out of) was you know not that hard to set up, but a little more clarification wouldn't hurt. I was trying to shut window best as possible, but not crushing window but it shut right down on window and surged my whole unit. I didn't know that at the time so what I thought was okay I have a antenna wire cut in two pieces and their is no way you can solder it together. BIG PROBLEM.
The real problem is having the wire going through your window so you can never securely shut your window. It needs a cable wire which is even stronger so once set up I thought I make it stronger and it will be fine to play. This will work fine only if you find a different way of fishing the wire from outside to inside without using the window. So I bought a satellite antenna wire and set it up. So I to a long thin piece of wood and screwed two screws into the top of the wood and placed the antenna on top so it's high up facing up. So I just thought that if I get a new antenna it will work. I took out the dock and plugged it in look nice and putting the stiletto 10 on it with remote and hooking up to stereo is great.
It worked for 10 sec. Because I have a deck and placed the wood and bracketed the wood down and than its all set. I unraveled the long cord and tried to figure out where to put it outside and face it. This works so much better that on the side of your house.
I give my highest recommendation to Sirius. XM will be dead in less than a year, I predict. The SLHI for the Stiletto is a great accessory. It's absolutely the best sat radio on the market. Enjoy and happy listening. It takes the i-Pod CRUSHING Stiletto and turns it into a great, full-featured, home unit. You can't beat the convenience and the sound quality is excellent.
five stars for correct item and fast delivery. my order was received before the time allowed and it was the correct item. the recipient was happy with it.
This was after paying a $15 non-refundable activiation fee to Sirius as well as $457 for a lifetime subscription which we did get refunded promptly. I bought my husband, who is an electronics engineer, a Sirius Stiletto and home kit for Christmas. After 2.5 hours on his own and 2.5 hour on the phone with support, the items were returned.
